Guess what I'm doing now (besides blogging)?
.
.
.
.
.
I'm listening to 4001 online lecture!!!
It's taught by such an ultra boring lecturer that I've juz to occupy myself with other stuffs to concentrate listening to it (see the irony).
Before blogging, I had painted my toe nails, removed nail polish, repainted my toe nails, painted my finger nails, removed nail polish, repainted my finger nails... Yea, twice manicure & twice pedicure.
Honestly, it's killing me more than Monk Tang in Travelling to the West. Zzz Zzz

Finally term break has come~
Actual things to be done: 4105 assig, 4413 assig, 4475 assig, 4476 assig, 4483 assig, 4490 quiz, hw310 presentation, fyp interim report.
Real things did so far: viewed +10 movies online, had 2 steamboats, went Yunnan Garden mooncake festival, worked hard for Who has Biggest Brain to beat kor2... =.=

Suddenly miss school quite a bit, like wana spend my last year in NTU properly to have some memories before working life. Came on friday to try steamboat in sch for the first time with kor2 n YF. It was so fun!!! We had chicken and mild soup and even korped ingredients frm yong tau fu stall to "cook" them. Some of others in canteen oso ordered them but theirs are really like campfire!

Juz had my second steamboat with YF's gang tonite. We innovated Chinese herbal chicken soup base and put in all kinds of ingredients including maggie mee! Actually taste not bad man as we r all novices in cooking.

Went for mooncake festival at Yunnan garden for first time too. I used to walk to sch twice a day through it and din realise it is rather big! There are 10 game stations and some food stalls.

We went to collect our freebies whch turned out to be free lanterns only. Then we went fishing and YF "fish" a lot using container instead of paper fishnet. CHEATER!!! Then went to shoot balls which i get mostly 0 score. The stall holder v funny all the time announce "zero~~~" "hit~~~" "scored~~~" "try again~~~" "congrat~~~" v loudly in mandarin. Then i kena all zero so paiseh! Went on to kiap marble balls n i did better than YF. Lastly went some mo4 qi4 testing which we did like shit. Tied arms tied legs n there we went like idiots.
Besides games, there are food and DIY lanterns, mooncakes, write wishes, draw lots. After 4 games we exchanged scorecard for clips n sharpener. Okie la, betta than nothing~ >.<

Went for World Food Fair on Hari Raya with YF for the first time, juz for pure curiosity sake (okie la for sampling and goodie bags too). =P

This year took place at Suntec Convention hall again. On the way passed by Marina Square with car exhibition. F1 is damn hot in town!!!

To our disappointment, not much sampling and all the stalls were conjested with aunties & uncles. Wanted to get some bakkua (was $30+ now $10 for 500g) but so many people!!! We went aimlessly eating around: 1 teppanyaki, 6 otah, 2 mango puree, 10 satays, 2 thai sharks fin soup, 2 garlic bread and ended with 2 waffle ice cream. The sales said buy 1 get 1 free but ended up paying 1 large size for 2 median size and so little ice cream!!! Hmph~

After eating muz do some exercise. Walked all the way to see Esplanade durians~ The place rather empty leh much less than food fair. Behind me is the F1 track and flyer!!! =)

Below us is a mini stage next to the Marina Bay. We took some silly pic and juz lax there la like 2 muachi, before a long walk back to MRT again. ^^

Both of us din win The Ugly Truth premier but won Whiteout instead. Okie la no shark fin ikan bilis oso can. ^^

Went to Suntec to catch the premier which is really a long walking journey!!! No wonder ppl prefer go Marina watch movie instead. All the things at Suntect r expensive targetting at rich tai tai.

Actually not in mood to catch movie coz next morning quiz. Ended up studying+sleeping inside MRT. Feel super lethagic due to lack of slp nowadays~

We quite lucky spotted new restaurant Just Acia (my spelling is correct)! All their set meals start from $5.90 r so worth the price. U can get main course, miso soup, rice and free flow of drinks n ice cream!!! Drinks: orange juice, peach juice, pepsi, 7-up, mountain dew, root beer, cappucino, cafe mocha, latte, long black etc. Ice cream: chocolate, coffee, strawberry, mint, mango, raspberry, vanilla etc. As a result, we ate like pigs and were late for the movie~

The movie is super boring though~~ Only thing I rmb from it is the shower scene which lasted like max 10s? Maybe both of us r too smart guessed the plot right frm the beginning. I so wana watch The Ugly Truth!!! =<

Everyone needs to chill sometimes~~~ ^^
Knowing I nv club before, YF decided to bring me to Home at Clarke Quay.

So many delicacies!!! Azabu Sabo is like so tempting lor. There also got Hokkaido, Haagan Daz and Walls pushcart ice creams. YF said they blue ocean sell dirt cheap to attract customers.

We walked along the river to find Home. YF made me walk extra distance (again) to Boat Quay!!! I seriously think he worse direction sense than me, as at least I got 6th sense. Reached Home eventually which appears to be a small, dodgy club with nobody there (no wonder we missed it by walking pass it twice)~ Our tickets show start at 8, we wanted to wait for 1 year anniversary band performance which was told by waiter to be starting at 10. Walked around then came back at 10 another waiter told us it starts at 12!!! Zzz

Pissed off and ended up walking and eating Walls ice cream by the riverside. Then, walked further to explore another side of Clarke Quay where all the nite clubs are. Some highly differentiable ones are: Clinic where ppl sit on wheelchairs n drink from drips and an ancient looking club called the Forbidden City. Reached the other end felt hungry again and ate hotties+drink again (we r pigs).

Tonite saw so many ang moh who were there to drink & chill all over the place. They are like treating it as part of lifestyle: wear shirt n jeans, laid back and relaxed, sip some beer and chit chat. I guess SG really too tensed up till locals dun bother to smell the flowers along the path.

P/S Ended up still a v at clubbing. I so wanted to danz lor, howww~

ADV: The Ugly Truth

Here comes a romantic comedy for all couples~~~

"Men are from Mars as Women are from Venus" Anyone who has dated before will notice the vast difference between man and woman. For instance, your bf can be so clueless about some memorable dates but can appear three minute before you when you text him you are all alone at nite.

Talking about dates, I had one classic spoilt date from a guy met in Friendster many years back. For one, I rarely net date but this guy juz appeared to be really funny and we decided to meetup for a movie. He appeared half an hour late and we went to eat nasi lemak. After a heavy meal, he juz wiped his oily chicken-wing hands on T-shirt. =.= What could be worse is later when we were watching movie, he was consistently breathing heavily near my face and whispering "so hot". No need to say, that was my last time seeing him after the toilet break, as I really detest guys who does not show due respect to female counterparts.

I think we all should go catch this movie to have some tutorials from Mike & Abby on how does the opposite sex think. Certainly, we do no wish to end up with sore hearts by committing some stupid low class mistakes. What's more, we can get to see two eye candies in just one movie!!!

Him?

Or Her? Have your pick! ^_~

Meanwhile, you guys can go play some fun games at the official site here.

Be a fan at the official Facebook page and catch The Ugly Truth when it opens in the cinemas on the 17th September 09!

It's been quite some time before going to Orchard, as my usual hangout is either at the very West or East. Went there to catch G Force to let my hair down. It proves to be a really entertaining movie as Disney movies always are! =D

After the movie, went for a nite stroll with YF and Sweet Talk Grape Champaign Bubble Tea (fall in love with it alr)! Walked about FEP, then passby an adult shop (did a stupid thing there which made me embarrased+guilty), then the new ION.

As one walks into ION, you would be surrounded by nice interior design with theme color: blue.

When he raise up his head, he can see beautiful animated sea creatures under the blue neon light.

The shops there sell high end products targetting expats or white collar high salary workers eg BEBE, Swarovski. A fren used to tell me the shops there all hv themes. To me, not only they sell high end products, they also pay much attention to intricate details which can be reflected by their interior designs, window displays and many sultry posters. In particular, I really like the Swarovski crystal stand on window display with bling blings that can totally blind you! ^^

STRESS!!! Quizzes coming, assignments coming, projects coming, FYP plan coming (altho I did it long ago)... Year four is definately hell!
But worse than hell is something called MATLAB. MATLAB MAKES ME MAD!!! It is everywhere: 4105, 4413, 4475, 4476, 4490, FYP... Yet, I'm still so clueless about it and their HELP doesn't help lor! =.=
On a brighter note, managed to get free premier G Force Tickets from Nuffnang and wandered about Orchard including ION with YF today (more on next entry with pics). Also, I finally managed to get my refund from spree, payment from Adsense and joint website to get free vouchers (those who wan can send email to me)! This kinda counteract the effect of my extravagant spending. =/ Lastly, I'm relieved of something private. PHEWWW~~~ So, overall it's a happy week for me!!! =)
BTW, CITS really CMI la was all ready to print all my notes then POOF...the power went off. Night study in school is fun too although it is not really studying. Think positively now is to enjoy my last year in NTU to fill it up with unforgettable memories~

ADV: Movie G-Force

Folks great news, another cartoon movie coming to town!!!

For those who know me well will know I always catch anime or cartoon or disney digital movies like Finding Nemo, Surf Up, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Sharks Tales, Shrek, Garfield, Mulan...
Not only children, adults with a child in their hearts are equally fasinated by such colorful, high resolution movies with interesting and educational plots. Unknowingly, one would end up laughing and crying with the characters for their happy events and misfortunes.
This movie is about one of the cutest animals on Earth - guinea pigs as action starts/spies/agents with the following 4 characters:

A) Juarez - Martial Arts Specialist
"The brains of the outfit. Fluent in English, Spanish and Guinea"

B) Darwin - Team Leader
"Determined to succeed at all costs"

C) Blaster - Demolition Specialist
"An outragous weapons expert with tons of attitude and love for all things extreme"

D) Hurley - Civilian
"Can not stomach injustice, all gut no glory, puts the "pig" in guinea pig"

This chap ought to be my personal favorite coz its super fat n cute n most important it dances! =D In other words, it is most piggy of all the four guinea pigs!!! Seeing its pic juz remind me of someone la~~ (maybe after I apply some image transformations can get Hurley out of his photo already they are like twins lor) I wana WIN tickets to catch this movie with that joker. *pleading imploringly*

Meet the G-Force team here.

Catch G-Force in cinemas 4th Sep 2009!!!

P/S OMG I WON G FORCE PREMIER TICKETS!!! Thank you Nuffnang~ =)

Sorry for the lack of recent updates, just came back from Shanghai this Tuesday nite.
Was there to acc my grandpa for GIST treatment at hospital almost everyday and thus no time/mood to tour around the "Eastern Paris".
I would like to express my gratitue to those who have helped and consoled me during this difficult period as without such encouragement, I couldn't have handled this crisis alone.
* My cousin has taken some pic at Shanghai/Beijing etc during his holiday, would post them later when he returns to Spain. I really need get a better phone with better camera!*

As promised, some of the food pic inside my SE.

1) Went to Pasta Mania @ CCK the other day. The service is rather slow, or perhaps due to heavy traffic during peak hour. Nevertheless, the food there are splendid.

We had one soup of the day/pepsi/garlic bread each. His is v creamy while mine is a bit sourish and sweet, not bad.

I had my baked rice with loads of cheese. I like melting cheese a lot, can even diy to put on top of sardine/prawns/crab stick then micro, damn delicious tell u.

The pizza oso din fail us, crispy yet tasty. Went dine-in @ Pizza Hut with mum another day and realise their Pizza now is so-so only.

2) Another trip to Bento Box. Like their presentation of food v much, colors, varieties, price... But too bad their food does not taste a fraction of what they seem to be. Guess it will be the last time to visit there as hawker centres sell tastier food at even cheaper price.

Had tom yam this time, v affordable especially if u r student. Lotsa ingredients inside like prawns, sotong, mushroom A, mushroom B, egg... But somehow like all their other pre-heated food, the noodles is one cold lump and the ingredients are not fresh either.

Had a bento box there too which can choose up to 3 combinations. The tempura ebi not bad but the fish tastes really weird. Guess they keep their ingredients for quite long and heat it everytime before serving.

3) Another recommendable place is Penang restaurant @ JP new building. Went with a fren for her birthday then subsequently thrice more with frenz. Their white fish laksa and prawn mee are to kill for and everytime will order them with frenz so can share share ma.

The orange soup base prawn mee with v heavy prawn taste. All prawn lovers would love this!!! To think about it, prawn is most versatile food to be added to rice, maggie mee, chawamushi (not hard to cook at all) and can be fried, steamed, ketchup, BBQ, anything. Send my sympathy to those who cant eat prawns. ^^

Their white fish Penang laksa is another hot seller. I like the spicy/sour/tasty white fish soup base which is v appetising. The downfall is they quite kiam siap with the fish meat, only 2-3 chunks.

Another trip for their prawn mee and laksa.

Their oyster omlette also not bad, quite a lot of oh chee inside and not v oily too.

4) Went to Dian Xiao Er with fren @ Vivo after our free B&J cones. Ordered 4 dishes, 1 rice, 1 soup for two persons damn sinful. Their food taste delicious, ambience v fu gu like ancient China and service is excellent too.

I like their decor with a touch of being at ancient China, one would imagine a swordsman/swordswoman will suddenly pop up somewhere, HAHA. They also serve you roasted peanuts and those old old kind of menu and I ordered their Nu Er Hong to try, taste like...weird.

Their signature big prawn, v fresh and big prawns indeed. Guess all prawns do not taste bad as long as they r fresh ba.

Their sigature dish, roasted herbal duck. Although no crispy skin like Peking duck, it tastes tender and juicy with a hint of herbal, amazingly not oily/bitter too.

The only disappointing dish, dunoe wat improvised tofu with brocolli. A rubbery feel and we cant even finish them.

Fragrant and tasty seafood fried rice with lots of seafood, even have big prawns inside. Actually to fry rice with high standard is not easy at all, normally the most simple task demands a lot of foundation from the chief.

Fish maw soup with mushroom, scallops etc which goes perfectly with the seafood fried rice. Guess all soup are not bad as long as made with fresh ingredients.

Dong Po meat/braised pork meat, which comes from the great poetic man Su Dong Po who likes it a lot. The good thing is we also like it a lot.

Last pic of the day, my new or old hair cut. Love how attentive the hairdresser were while cutting my hair, heh. ^^
